History
Greenane -- is a Gaelic word which means high, sunny sanctuary; and Greenane Farms is just that. A 300 acre sanctuary located in the Catskill Mountains less than 3 hours from Manhattan in New York City.
In the fall of 2003 the initial 100 acre property that is now Greenane was purchased by Patrick Rider, a successful international businessman and entrepreneur, who is transforming Greenane Farms into the area's premier Black Angus Cattle and Equestrian center. Since 2003 the farm has grown through land leases to accommodate additional grazing, boarding, and grass-farming requirements.
